It’s been a relief. Our Managing Director said that our last day would be on the 22nd and we’ll be back on the 4th of January, 2007. Wow. Finally, a much-needed vacation to patch things up.
I am decided to forego all of my failures and shortcomings this year and focus more on how to do better next year. I am also decided that come January 2007, I’ll be more organized. Tabula Rasa would be my primary agenda.
I’m not a college student anymore, nor I am a fresh graduate in a newly-joined in company. I am getting old, and so are my priorities and issues. I don’t have the luxury to be indifferent on how I manage myself, just like old times.
Conversations with my fellow college-mates (Marco and Grays, to be exact) makes me a little bit wary of my future. Those days way back in college, life seems so simple, except for the fact that we have to pass all of our subjects - I think it’s just the way it is. But now we, I for sure, am worried with so many things a normal young professional has - From commuting to income tax refund - all of it.
And then the issue of settling down. Am I ready for this big thing? Will I be able to support all those things associated with it? Aya and I have long been talked about this, and we are both amicable on what we should do first. But as a guy, I can’t help but worry on the way I’d be handling those things when the time comes. I just want to be prepared for that.
And so, maybe, just maybe, by January next year I’ll start the preparations of being organized, not just in the way I handle things but more importantly my finances. Enough of those haphazard spending of money. Time to put my finances into right places.
I came across this saying when I’m still searching for a job. It’s all about your salary: "Habang lumalaki ang sweldo mo, lumalaki rin ang gastusin mo…" It just hit me right in the spot. They’re right. The reason some of us doesn’t have savings is because we are thrilled to spend our money. Because we have more spending power than before. We are thrilled and excited because the window of opportunity gave us more things to spend and more money to waste. Haay…
Need to focus more. I don’t want to have a ‘Ningas-cogon‘ attitude towards this. Sana lang.
With this article, I close the work year 2006. I hope next year would bring us more prosperity and a clear, positive outlook in life. Sana. hehe
